Guiding the Vision: Our Leadership Team
Joseph Aucoin – Co-Founder and Managing Partner
With more than 23 years of restoration and reconstruction experience, Joseph Aucoin serves as the steady hand guiding SureDry Restoration. His career began with reconstruction work for large restoration firms, where he saw firsthand how long delays between mitigation and reconstruction frustrated customers. Driven to streamline the process, he co-founded SureDry so that homeowners wouldn’t have to wait to reclaim their normal lives.
Joseph’s motivation comes from two places: his desire to improve customer experiences and his commitment to his family. Watching clients suffer through prolonged repairs pushed him to make service faster, and his wife and three daughters are why he gets up each day ready to serve. He often says that a company’s culture starts at the top. His personal motto, “Always respectful, positive attitude, trainable,” guides the way SureDry treats clients and team members alike.
Beyond work, Joseph is deeply involved in his community. He volunteers with local churches in Murrieta, helping to feed the homeless and support those in need. When he isn’t on the job site or giving back, he enjoys coffee and cherishes time with his young daughters. He also shares a surprising fact—he is one of 18 siblings, which taught him resilience and empathy from a young age.
As a licensed general contractor (B) and
EPA-certified specialist, Joseph oversees SureDry’s restoration work with a meticulous eye. He ensures every project meets the SureDry stamp of approval, which is the highest standard, blending technical expertise with genuine compassion.

Travis Sponhem – Co-Founder and Operations Director
Travis Sponhem brings 19 years of hands-on restoration experience to SureDry Restoration. He entered the field working alongside his father, learning every aspect of restoration from the ground up. After a decade in the union doing commercial projects, he decided to forge his own path. Leaving union work behind, he launched SureDry with a mission to do things differently.
Travis often credits his wife and children as his main reasons for building a company that values family and keeps customers’ lives on track. He aims to give clients a worry-free experience, promising their homes will be restored “the same or better than before,” and works hard to make them feel safe and protected. His personal motto, “If it’s not done right, we didn’t do it,” reflects his commitment to quality.
Community involvement is central to Travis’s life. When he’s not coordinating restoration crews, he’s often found coaching youth softball or supporting his daughter’s martial arts programs. He enjoys riding his Harley and maintaining a rigorous 5 a.m. gym routine, though he occasionally reaches for an energy drink to power through long days.
Travis is a skilled craftsman with expertise in drywall, finish carpentry, metal framing, T‑bar ceilings, and complete fire, smoke, and
water restoration work. His broad skill set ensures SureDry can handle complex residential and commercial projects under one roof. Together with Joseph, he sets the pace for SureDry’s responsive, high-quality service.
